Racing for brain cancer
110 new friends and supporters gathered at the Gold Coast Turf Club to raise money for two great causes – paediatric brain cancer and Lismore flood victims.
The Levi’s Project Race Day was dreamed up by Scott Bryant, a Gold Coast resident who, in his own humble words, just likes to give back. There are amazing humans like Scott quietly chipping away in the background of every community, who do good things for others simply because they can. He worked long, long hours late into the night to make this happen.
Scott knew of the Harris family, who lost their cherished son Rio – soccer-mad, Liverpool-loving – to DIPG last year, and wanted to do more. And more we did, raising over $14,000. There was great food, abundant beverages, some lucky flutters, fantastic prizes, and even better company.
Thank you to everyone who came along, especially those who travelled from Brissy to show their support. As always, we’ll be back next year, even bigger and better.
